9/12: The Epic Battle of the Ground Zero Responders

September 11, 2021 will mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11, a day ingrained in the collective memory of those who lived through it. But the story of 9/11 is much more than what happened that one day. It is also about what began the next day on 9/12, when thousands of responders banded together for the benefit of a city, state and nation. Many suffered illnesses and died during and after the nine month cleanup and initially were denied medical care and compensation. Further, the lack of government preparedness resulting in a dramatic increase in the tragedy’s toll is an eerie foreshadowing of what transpired during the pandemic of 2020. William H. Groner represented 10,000-plus Ground Zero responders in their near decade-long lawsuit to get redress. He was deeply struck by their selflessness and humanity and teamed up with award-winning journalist Tom Teicholz to write a book about it. 9/12: The Epic Battle of the Ground Zero Responders is a gripping work of narrative non-fiction that reads like a legal, medical, and political thriller. Reflecting Jewish ethics, chesed, and tikkun olam as well as justice, it reminds us that we are all in this together.
