This short but profound book is filled with important insights into the long tradition of Jewish and non – Jewish dialogue. Benbassa and Attias chronicle the intricate and marvelous development of the exchange of Jewish thought with Christian and Muslim thinking and how all three strands found their way into Jewish history.

The concept of dialogue is the concept of sharing ideas, of listening to and learning from the ideas of others. Whether the subject matter is feminism or Islam, it is fundamental to liberal Jewish thought.
