Alyssa Satin Capu­cil­li is the author of over 100 books for young read­ers includ­ing Bis­cuit, the pop­u­lar best­seller used to launch the My First I Can Read Series from Harper­Collins. With over forty-three mil­lion books in print, Bis­cuit has been deemed a mod­ern clas­sic. Alyssa is the recip­i­ent of the Wash­ing­ton Irv­ing Award, the Gar­den State Award, the Bank Street Col­lege Best Book Award, the Oppen­heim Port­fo­lio Gold Award, and the Amer­i­can Library Asso­ci­a­tion Award. Alyssa has con­tributed to numer­ous pub­li­ca­tions includ­ing Renais­sance Read­ing’s What Kids are Read­ing. She is a fre­quent lec­tur­er at the Teach­ers Col­lege Read­ing and Writ­ing Project and has taught in the Writ­ing Insti­tute at Sarah Lawrence College.
