This is a delightful story full of love and affection, following a day in the life of a unnamed little boy who gets kisses from his parents and grandparents as he wakes up, eats breakfast, goes to the park, and finally comes home for dinner. Extensive use of Jewish words adds Jewish content to this short rhyming book. Examples include oy vey, babka, dreidel, bubbie, and zeide. Beautiful watercolor illustrations in pastel colors perfectly complement the warm feeling of the text. Veteran author Leslea Newman has written previous books of Jewish interest, including Matzo Ball Moon, A Sweet Passover, and Runaway Dreidel. Charming and perfect for a read-a-loud, this book is recommended for ages three through seven.
