Rachel Manekin is asso­ciate pro­fes­sor of Jew­ish stud­ies at the Uni­ver­si­ty of Mary­land. She is the author of The Jews of Gali­cia and the Aus­tri­an Con­sti­tu­tion: The Begin­ning of Mod­ern Jew­ish Politics.
