Reuven Fire­stone is Pro­fes­sor of Medieval Judaism and Islam at Hebrew Union Col­lege and Senior Fel­low at the Cen­ter for Reli­gion and Civic Cul­ture at the Uni­ver­si­ty of South­ern Cal­i­for­nia. He is Founder and Co-direc­tor of the Cen­ter for Mus­lim-Jew­ish Engage­ment in Los Ange­les, and author of sev­en books includ­ing Jihad: The Ori­gin of Holy War in Islam (Oxford) and more than eighty schol­ar­ly arti­cles on Judaism, Chris­tian­i­ty and Islam.&nbsp
