Reuven Firestone is Professor of Medieval Judaism and Islam at Hebrew Union College and Senior Fellow at the Center for Religion and Civic Culture at the University of Southern California. He is Founder and Co-director of the Center for Muslim-Jewish Engagement in Los Angeles, and author of seven books including Jihad: The Origin of Holy War in Islam (Oxford) and more than eighty scholarly articles on Judaism, Christianity and Islam.
