Steve Zeitlin received his Ph.D. in Folklore and Folklife from the University of Pennsylvania. He is the founding director of City Lore, New York’s center for urban folk culture. He is the author of ten books on America’s folk culture, including Because God Loves Stories: An Anthology of Jewish Storytelling and The Poetry of Everyday Life.
