Vir­ginia McGee But­ler is a writer and ear­ly child­hood edu­ca­tor. Her research at the Uni­ver­si­ty of South­ern Mississippi’s de Grum­mond Children’s Lit­er­a­ture Col­lec­tion has been used in the fifti­eth-anniver­sary edi­tion of The Snowy Day and in oth­er schol­ar­ly works on Ezra Jack Keats.
