Arie Kaplan is an award-winning author and public speaker. His most well known nonfiction book is

2009 Booklist Editors’ Choice: Books For Youth Winner, a
2008 finalist for the National Jewish Book Award, a
2009 Sophie Brody Honor Book (awarded by the American Library Association), and a

USA Book News). Arie has also written nonfiction books on a variety of other subjects, ranging from the history of piracy to the life of Vlad the Impaler. And he has authored several graphic novels and comic book stories — featuring such iconic characters as Superman, Speed Racer, and Bart Simpson — for
DC Comics, Dark Horse Comics, Bongo Comics,
IDW, and other publishers. In addition to his work as an author, Arie is an in-demand public speaker. He has lectured all over the world on various pop culture-related subjects, such as the history of Jews in film, the history of Jews in comic books, and the history of Jews in comedy.
