Scenes involving angels are extracted from the Jewish and Christian Bibles and retold in spare, unadorned language. No context or interpretation is offered to enhance the reader’s understanding of the stories. Highly textured and stylized paintings add a modern flavor. The inclusion of so many New Testament stories makes the book unsuitable for Jewish library collections.
