Dr. Ruth K. Westheimer was a therapist who pioneered speaking frankly about intimate matters on radio. Starting in 1980, her fifteen-minute taped segment, airing after midnight on Sundays, grew into to a live, one-hour call-in show. Her unique, open style allowed her to communicate effectively through almost every medium, including radio, television, books, newspapers, games, home video, and computer software.
