Dahlia Japhet was born in Israel and educated in Israel, the United States, and Canada. She received her master’s degree in medieval studies at the University of Toronto and then studied at the Pontifical Institute Toronto the Jewish Theological Seminary and at YIVO. She taught at Bar Ilan University in Israel for over 10 years. She currently lives in New York City with her two sheepdogs.
