Sto­ry­teller Joel ben Izzy grad­u­at­ed from Stan­ford Uni­ver­si­ty in 1983 and set off to trav­el the globe, gath­er­ing and telling sto­ries. Since then, he has per­formed and led work­shops in 35 coun­tries. He is the author of the mem­oir The Beg­gar King and the Secret of Hap­pi­ness and lives with his wife, Taly, in Berke­ley, CA. They have two grown children.
