Joel Dims­dale is Dis­tin­guished Pro­fes­sor Emer­i­tus and Research Pro­fes­sor of Psy­chi­a­try at Uni­ver­si­ty of Cal­i­for­nia, San Diego. He received his train­ing at Car­leton Col­lege, Stan­ford Uni­ver­si­ty, and Har­vard Uni­ver­si­ty. The author of over 500 pub­li­ca­tions, Dims­dale has been a con­sul­tant to the Pres­i­den­t’s Com­mis­sion on Men­tal Health, the Insti­tute of Med­i­cine, the Nation­al Acad­e­mies of Sci­ence, NASA, and NIH.
