A Wexn­er Grad­u­ate Fel­low, Matt received his MAJE from Hebrew Union Col­lege and taught Jew­ish stud­ies for 15 years. He ran a rite of pas­sage pro­gram for teens which led to the pub­li­ca­tion of his first book: Spir­it in Nature: Teach­ing Judaism and Ecol­o­gy on the Trail. His chil­dren’s book, Solomon and the Trees is read at Tu B’sh­vat in syn­a­gogues and day schools across the coun­try. Matt lives in Davis, California.
