Born into a Haskala atheist family, this polymath chose an undergraduate major in physics but by graduate school had found her lifelong love, philosophy. Her two novels, many short stories, essays, and some poetry followed. She published in Moment, Tikkun, and The Forward, always turning to philosophy for answers to her thoughtful questions. After teaching a philosophy course on Sabbath-keeping, she began the quest which eventually became this highly original and very readable book. Dr. Susan Pashman resides in Sag Harbor, NY with her husband, Jack Weinstein.
