Rabbi Tamara Kolton, Ph.D., is an independent rabbi, psychologist, author, and feminist mythologist. Closest to her heart is her work with families as she tenderly and skillfully conducts funerals and leads bereavement groups. She has a Master of Arts in clinical psychology from the Michigan School of Psychology and a Ph.D. from Union Institute and University. She wrote her dissertation on “The Experience of Being a Woman Rabbi.” In 1999 she became the first person to be ordained a Humanistic rabbi.
