Mar­i­on Grodin began her career as a writer, sell­ing six screen­plays to 20th Cen­tu­ry. Just as she was about to embark on her sev­enth, she decid­ed it was time to start say­ing all these fun­ny things she was try­ing to write. So she took the plunge into stand-up and has been work­ing as a come­di­an for the past 15 years.
